Set Up

Buy some plastic spiders and some straws and you are ready to play!  It is as easy as that and it costs less than two dollars!

The Game

This easy Halloween game is played on a table (longer is better) or even on the floor.  Mark a starting line on the table (or floor) and put the spiders on the line.  Give each contestant straw and have them choose a spider.  You could even allow each player to customize their spiders before the game starts.  Have the players take their positions behind their spider and at the starting signal, each player blows through their straw and tries to blow their spider to the finish line.  The first player to get their spider to the finish line is the winner!  Set up a tournament and see who is the spider race champion.

Variation

This game can be played with water and it looks amazing!  Use tin foil to make a long race track.  Make sure to put the shiny side is facing down and curl up the sides of the tin foil so that it can hold water.  Before adding water, each player can use wipe board markers to draw their spiders on the tin foil.  After the spiders have been drawn, add water and watch the spiders come alive!  Then with the straws you can race the spiders.  Check out the video below for a wonderful example of this game.
