Ghost Bowling
Halloween games are great and this one only cost one dollar to make!
Set up
I made these Halloween games for one dollar and not only are they fun to make, but we enjoyed playing with them for hours! Buy a bowling set from the dollar store and draw ghosts on the pins and you are ready to play. You could also use anything you want for the pints. Plastic 2 liter bottles work great!
You could play with standard bowling rules or play a game I call Countup.
Countup
Countup is my favorite game to play for Ghost Bowling. The object of the game to is to score 100 points (50 points for shorter games). Each pin is worth 1 point so if you knock over 9 pins you get 9 points. The twist to this game is that scoring points isnt the only important thing. The most important part of this game is the number of throws it takes to reach 100 points. How many times do you have to throw the ball to reach 100 points? The team or player who throw the least number of balls to reach 100 points is the winner. For example, I throw my first ball and I hit 9 pins. I recieve 9 points for that throw so I write down 9 points and 1 ball thrown on the score sheet. I then throw my second ball. If I hit the last pin I get 1 point and I get to set up all the pins again. If I miss the pin, I have to throw again and again until I hit the last pin. Each time I throw the ball I have to record the number of throws. I can only reset all the pins after they were all knocked down. Sometimes it takes many throws to hit the last pins so it might take a long time before you can reach 100 points! In a perfect game, a player would throw ten balls and knock down all the pins on each throw (no bonus points for strikes or spares). How many balls will it take you to reach 100 points?
