Ride the Bus
This is a fairly casual drinking game that is simple to play and fun to play with a large number of players. The more friends that play, the more fun it is! All you need is a deck of cards and beer.
How to Play
First, play janken to decide will be the dealer first. Once the dealer is decided (and the cards are shuffled), the game can start. This game is played in four rounds. For each round, each player will be asked one question.
Round 1
In round one, the dealer will ask the first player to the left “Red or Black”. The player will try to guess if the top card of the deck is red or black. If they guess correctly, they can give a drink to anyone who is playing the game. But if they guess wrong, they take a drink of their beer. The dealer will then give them the card and the dealer will then ask every player in turn the same question. Each player will keep the card they get face up in front of them and wait for round two to start.
Round 2
Round 2 starts when everyone has been asked the question from Round 1 and play has come back to the first person to the left of the dealer. The dealer will then ask this player “higher or lower”. The player will then have to guess if the top card of the deck will be higher or lower than the first card that they received. Again, if they guess correctly they can give a drink to someone but if they get it wrong, they have to take a drink. *If the top card is the same number as their previous card, they have to drink three drinks! After everyone has answered the Round 2 question and received their card, Round 3 will start.
Round 3
The question for Round 3 is “Inside or Outside”. The player will have to guess if the number of the top card will be inside or in-between the two cards that the player has already received. For example, if your two cards are a King and a 9, the 10, Jack and Queen cards would be “inside” and all the other cards would be outside. If the players guess is correct, then the player can give one drink to someone, but if they guess wrong, they have to take a drink. If the the next card is the same number as one of the players cards, that player has to take three drinks. Start Round 4 after all the players get their third card.
Round 4
This is the last round! The question for Round 4 is “What Suit”. Each player will try to guess the suit of the next card in the deck. So they will have to try to guess if the next card is a heart, club, spade or diamond. If they guess correctly they can give one drink to someone at the table. If they guess incorrectly, they have to take one drink.
Bonus Round!
The bonus round is where the fun starts and people really start drinking. First, the dealer will make a pyramid of face down cards. The pyramid will have a base of five cards. The next levels of the pyramid will be four cards, three cards, two cards and then one card. Each level of the pyramid represents a drink total. The base layer is one drink, the next level is two drinks, then three drink, four drinks and the last card will be five drinks (or a shot if you want). Once the pyramid is made the bonus round will start. Starting with the five card base level, the dealer will turn over one card. Every player that has that card can give one drink to some one. Each card of the pyramid will be turned over one at a time and drinks will be given accordingly. Lots of drinking and a lot of fun! Once the game is over, you can start again!
